The neighbourhood

Paasloo is a little village situated in the countryside where a lot of touristic activities take place. Nearby Paasloo the Weeribben Wieden National Park is situated in which the places Ossenzijl and Kalenberg are located. The surrounding areas of the Weeribben Wieden national park are known for its beautiful walk-, cycle- and sailing routes. There are a lot of opportunities for the rental of a boat, pedal boat and/or canoe.

The familiar place Giethoorn is situated about 20 kilometers from the camping site. Giethoorn is known as the Dutch version of Venice. Giethoorn is a small village with several nice shops, bridges, and sailing routes. A trip in Giethoorn is highly recommended.

If you want to go for a day of shopping Steenwijk is a nice place to do this. Also the Frisian Wolvega can offer you a nice day in town. Oldemarkt is nearby and ideal for the daily shopping. In this nice town there is the yearly Weerribbenmarket, a very big and nice market planned in the weekend of Ascension Day.
